This is my favorite sushi place by far.
The food is excellent and the staff is really friendly.
I crave their food all the time because it is so great. -

If you're looking for quality food, great staff and amazing sushi then definitely DO NOT COME HERE. We waited an hour and a half for two orders of rolls.
I'm fairly patient so I had no problem waiting but when I mentioned something at the 1 hour mark after being quoted 30 minutes; the staff were EXTREMELY RUDE.
Regardless, I sat back down and didn't say anything about it. FINALLY after almost two hours of waiting, I got the wrong order and instead of replacing it, I was offered a free tempura.
I will never recommenced this place to friends or family. There are several other sushi restaurants I would much rather take my business and suggest you to do! -

This place must have reopened as I ate there today. I don't have much reference for sushi in parksville but food was a bit worse than the average hole in the wall sushi place in Vancouver.
The staff was nice but the place was almost empty. Probably because of the food quality. -

Ugh. I really wanted to like this place. It's right on the main drag in Parksville. This was my second time to Samurai and both time have been the same. All of their crab rolls use a LOT of imitation crab - it really takes away from the other flavours. I ordered an assorted tempura as well - the good old standby, but found the tempura batter think and doughy. The only positive of the meal was the edamame which cam to the table nice and hot, but even then it was very salty. This place makes me feel like a sushi snob. And I'm not, I just think it's fast without much attention to detail. A swing and a miss. Sam's Sushi in French Creek blows this place outta the water.

So good that we returned the next night for more. You can't beat the price. The sushi was fresh, tasty, and flavorful. Service was great. Very kind staff as well. We will definitely go back during our next visit!
